PERFORMANCES 2010
SISTAHOOD CELEBRATION
SlamDance
917 Main (formerly The Colbalt), Vancouver BC

Slam Dance will bring together artists from a vast array of genres. Slam Dance will feature slam poets, dancers, visual and media artists, and top female dj’sDJs. The evening will celebrate the roots of the Sistahood Celebration (hiphop and slam poetry) fused with new media and new musical genres. The DJs will play selections of music from musical genres that typically feature male artists and DJs, including dubstep, reggae, hiphop. In contrast, we are pleased to showcase these genres with internationally renowned female performers. To engage audiences and further increase artist development we will pair the DJs with poets, and dancers to create new works of music and art.
