It featured writers and performers based in Vancouver, Canada, London,
England and Brooklyn, U.S. on a hot August night of 2001. On the mic: Vanessa Richards, Tanya Evanson, Wayde
Compton, Kia Kadiri, Ndidi Cascade, Troy Jackson and
special guest Rha Goddess (NYC); DJ's Mr Rumble and Denise Galay; Visuals by Jan Wade and Heng Ou.

Trans-metaphoria: Poetic Workshops

their skills, love and commitment to the Word with members of the community.
Session 1. POETIC ALCHEMY

Mannafest Artistic Director and poet Vanessa Richards shared techniques for turning words into art.
Session 2 . PERFORMING POETRY
Saturday August 18th 1:30pm-3:30pm
Poetry for performance in a supportive and experimental creative laboratory with Mannafest.
Session 3 . SELF PUBLISHING
Saturday August 18th 4pm - 6 pm
Tanya Evanson (Mother Tongue Media) offered insights and advice on publishing poetry at the independent level. |
